The meeting point is at the Ushuaia tourist pier, at the box company, where we presented the vochers and we being the journey by road towards northeast along Nationals route 3 & J,  the appealing road to Estancia Harberton. Its located at 90 kilometers from Ushuaia city, on the Beagle channel. On the road we wil watch  the geography of Tierra del Fuego island and the Beagle Channel. The Estancia is owned by descendants of British pioneers, the first ranch in the area, founded in 1886 by the missionary Thomas Bridges, located on the Beagle Channel and has its own pier, where we board a semi-rigid boat (vessel capable of navigation in the area) and after 15 minutes ride, we land in Martillo island. Martillo Island is part of the Estancia Harberton, and home to Magellanic penguins  between September and April. They share the habitat with other birds, such as skúas (their main predator), petrels, cormorants, vultures  and South American terns.  The rookery hosts around 1000 nests, and is one of the three Magellanic penguin rookeries in Tierra del Fuego. There is also a small colony of 9 breeding couples of gentoo penguins (Pygocelis Papua), the only one in South America.

Once landed on the island,  we will make a short walk to reach the beach where there are penguins, and we will enterin a narrow  catwalks, where we can see  along Gentoo and Magellanics penguins, very close, almost touching, but unable to leave the marked trails,  always with the spanish / English guide, who talk us about the habits of those cute animals, experiencing a unique adventure.

After + - 1 hour in Martillo island, we began the walk back and navigation Estancia Harberton, we get around and the   guide will tell its history, and after this we will comeback to Ushuaia, at the same point in the Ushuaia tourist pier.
